Colour is a Language.
Woven in Freedom.

ZÄRTJÎ is an independent Australian fashion label creating natural clothing as wearable art, designed for movement, individuality and a life lived freely.
We bring together vibrant colour, original artwork and fluid silhouettes with an appreciation for natural fibres and considered craftsmanship. Inspired by the natural world, cultural stories and places encountered through travel, our collections reimagine traditional draping and relaxed dressing for contemporary life.
Our garments are created in intentionally limited collections using natural fibres, including organic cotton and linen. Original artwork and colour stories are brought to life using water-based, non-toxic inks, with quality construction and considered finishing central to every piece.

The Story Behind ZÄRTJÎ
The name ZÄRTJÎ is inspired by Saartjie Baartman, an Indigenous Khoikhoi woman of Southern Africa whose legacy raises enduring questions around dignity, bodily autonomy, identity and the right to exist on one's own terms.
Her story sits quietly at the heart of our philosophy. ZÄRTJÎ does not seek to speak for her story, but to carry forward a spirit of dignity, individuality and freedom through clothing that moves with the woman wearing it, rather than asking her to conform to it.
To move freely is everything.

Our Experience & Presence
ZÄRTJÎ has been featured at Australian Fashion Weeks and across publications, alongside participation in artisan markets, fashion events, festivals and cultural gatherings throughout Australia.

We have an established presence across North Queensland, the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Sydney, including artisan markets:
- Cairns & Tropical North Queensland: Tanks Arts centre, Port Douglas, Palm Cove and Yungaburra Markets.
- Sunshine Coast: Eumundi Markets
- Brisbane: Riverside, Southbank and West End markets.
- Sydney: Glebe, Paddington, Avoca and Kirribilli markets.
Our collections are also available through our online store and selected artisan boutiques and independent retail partners. We continue to build relationships with customers, event organisers and retailers who appreciate original design, natural fibres and wearable art.
Our Market & Event Setups
ZÄRTJÎ offers flexible, visually engaging retail setups designed to suit a variety of event sizes, site configurations and audiences. Our presentation brings together considered merchandising, vibrant colour, original prints and an inviting customer experience.
3 × 3 m Marquee — Compact Market Setup
Ideal for artisan markets, community events, smaller festival sites and pop-up retail. This configuration provides a focused presentation of selected garments, with clothing rails, signage and a curated display.
4.5 × 3 m Marquee — Expanded Market Setup
Ideal for larger markets and festivals requiring a broader product selection and more spacious merchandising. This configuration allows additional clothing rails, clearer product groupings and a more immersive browsing experience.
6 × 3 m Marquee — Iconic Markets, Large Festival & Event Setup
Ideal for major festivals, multi-day events and larger retail activations. This configuration offers room for an expanded collection, multiple display zones and a more substantial ZÄRTJÎ retail experience, subject to site layout and event requirements.
We can adapt our product selection and display to suit the event, audience, available footprint and stallholder guidelines. All configurations are planned with customer access, clear presentation and efficient setup and pack-down in mind.
Final setup dimensions and configurations are confirmed in consultation with event organisers and are subject to site availability, approvals, access and event-specific requirements.

Sustainability & Considered Production
ZÄRTJÎ takes a considered approach to production and presentation. Our collections are intentionally limited, helping us avoid unnecessary overproduction. We prioritise natural fibres, durable construction and water-based, non-toxic inks, and use recycled or recyclable packaging where practical.
Our market equipment and signage are reusable across events, and we retain suitable fabric offcuts for sampling and future creative projects. We aim to minimise single-use materials and separate recyclable waste wherever facilities allow.
Working With Event Organisers
We value the opportunity to contribute to Australia's independent fashion, artisan and festival communities. Our stall is designed to offer more than a conventional clothing display: it is a colourful, welcoming space where visitors can explore original artwork, discover distinctive garments and connect with the stories behind the collection.
Whether participating in a local artisan market, a destination festival, a fashion event or a curated pop-up, we aim to provide a professional, engaging and well-presented retail experience that complements the character of each event.
